MKSD client Paulina Singer's new television movie 'High School Lover' will premiere on Lifetime Movie Network on February 4th, 2017.  'High School Lover' is produced by James Franco who also plays Singer's father. MKSD client Tristan “Mack” Wild's  new series 'Shots Fired' will be premiering at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2017. Episode 101 and 106 will be screened in a 550 seat theatre on Wednesday, January 25th. Wild’s plays Officer Joshua Beck in the FOX event series. The ten-part series examines the dangerous aftermath of racially charged shootings in a small town in North Carolina.

VH1’s television movie ‘The Breaks’ starring MKSD client Mack Wilds (FKA Tristan Wilds) has been picked up for series. The Breaks aired in January and ranks as the No. 2 cable original movie of the year.

Wilds will be reprising his role as DeeVee, an ambitious producer looking for hip-hop’s next big thing. Wood Harris (The Wire) Afton Williamson (Banshee) and Method Man starred in the TV movie. Most are expected to return for the series.

MKSD client Christina Jackson will reprise her role as Sally-Ann in WGN America’s hit series Outsiders.  The series has been given a second season pickup and will begin production this summer. 

The hour-long series follows the struggle of the Farrells’, and off-the-grid Appalachian clan, and their battle to defend their mountain and way of life from the town below. Jackson plays Sally-Ann a townie whose romance with a Farrell has been a fan favorite during the first season.

Eagan graduated to the role of Martha for this celebration of the musical’s 25th anniversary.

 Lucas joined a host of other Broadway favorites for the large-scale concert revival including Cheyenne Jackson (Glee), Ramin Kamirloo (2014 Tony Nominee) Sierra Borgess (School Of Rock) and Oscar Williams (Fun Home).

Timon Kyle Durrett (Like Mike) will play Davis West, a charismatic and respected professional basketball player married to Charley Bordelon West (Dawn-Lyen Gardner) who becomes embroiled in a public scandal. Ashe plays Davis and Charley’s 15-year-old son Micah, who despite a privileged life, is grounded and has a great relationship with his parents. After a worldwide search that featured thousands of young actors, Netflix has locked the young ensemble cast for its upcoming supernatural period drama series written and directed by young genre filmmakers Matt Duffer and Ross Duffer (Wayward Pines) and executive produced by Shawn Levy. August 10, 2015 - FX Network has officially picked up the new series ‘Better Things’, a comedy from Louis CK and Pamela Aldon. In the series, Aldon plays the lead character of Sam – a working actor trying to navigate her career, her role as a single mother, and adult relationships. MKSD’s Olivia Edward has been cast in the role of Duke, the youngest of Aldon’s three daughters.

Earlier this year, Olivia appeared on a season 1 episode on Netflix’s ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt’ and previously appeared on NBC’s ‘The Mysteries of Laura”. In ‘Better Things’, Olivia will co-star alongside Mikey Madison and Riley Watson.

MKSD Client Jake Lucas Cast as Lewis in ‘The King and I’
November 17, 2014 - MKSD client Jake Lucas has been cast as Lewis in Lincoln Center Theater’s upcoming Broadway revival of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King and I.

Inspired by Margaret Landon’s novel Anna and the King of Siam, The King and I is set back in 1860s Bangkok and follows the relationship of British schoolteacher Anna Leonowens and the King of Siam. The story originally appeared on Broadway in 1951, and was last seen in a 1996 revival.

The revival production will be directed by Tony Award winner Barlett Sher, and the 51-member cast will be led by Ken Watanabe and five-time Tony nominee Kelli O’Hara. This will be the third time that Jake has played a role as Kelli’s son (Far From Heaven, Peter Pan Live! And now, The King and I.)

The King and I is scheduled to open April 16, 2015 at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre.

March 13, 2014 - After a successful 2012, MKSD’s own Jake and Sydney Lucas have been cast as series regulars in the FX comedy pilot, How and Why. Sydney and Jake will play the role of Kip and Kitty and are set to star alongside actors Michael Cera, John Hawkes, Sally Hawkins and Katherine Keener.

The half-hour series is from Oscar-winning screenwriter Charlie Kaufman and will center around the life of a man “who can tell how and why a nuclear reactor works, but is clueless about life.” Production for How and Why will begin this spring in North Carolina.

The Lucas siblings have had immense success this past year. Sydney starred as Alison in the critically acclaimed musical “Fun Home” at the Public Theatre in New York, and Jake as “Ralphie” in this years Broadway production of “A Christmas Story.”

In addition, the young actors will star as the children of Jennifer Anniston and Owen Wilson in the upcoming film “Squirrel to The Nuts.”

October 23, 2013 - The World Premiere of Fun Home opened with rave reviews at The Public Theater Tuesday night (10/22). Adapted from Alison Bechdel’s graphic memoir by playwright Lisa Kron and composer Jeanine Tesori, and directed by Sam Gold, Fun Home is a self discovery story in which Alison looks back on her life to solve the mystery of who her father was and what that makes her in turn. Mack Wilds Releases First Album

September 3, 2013 - MKSD client, Tristan Paul Mack Wilds, is most known for his role on 90210, The Wire and George Lucas' film, Red Tails. Yet, the actor turned to the music world and is the newest RNB/Pop singer to watch.

Mack drops his first album to the streets called "New York: A Love Story" on September 30th of this year. He credits Jay Z for helping.

The release of his first single and video from the album "Own It" is stirring up the RnB music world. The Salaam Remi and Ne-Yo crafted track definitely has a late-'80s to early-'90s, New Jack Swing kind of vibe to it.

Radius-TWC Purchases Concussion after Sundance Debut

January 23, 2013 - Just days after its world premiere January 19 at Library Center Theatre as part of Sundance's U.S. Dramatic Competition, Concussion, starring MKSD’s Jonathan Tchaikovsky, was purchased by Radius-TWC. Radius co-presidents were “mesmerized by Concussion” and described it as “provocative” and “one of the best [performances] we’ve seen on screen in a very long time.”

Concussion, which is Stacie Passion’s directorial debut, follows a forty something suburban housewife who reevaluates her life after being hit in the head by a baseball, transforming herself into high end escort in New York. Concussion will be distributed by Radius as a multi-platform release in the fall of 2013.

Two MKSD Clients to Feature at 2013 Sundance Film Fest


December 5, 2012 -Earlier this week Sundance Film Festival unveiled it's 2013 list of films that will screen as part of the Premiere's lineup which inlcuded Ashton Kutcher-fronted Steve Jobs biopic "jOBS", Joseph Gordon-Levitt's directorial debut "Don Jon's Addiciton" and the "The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete", which features MKS&D client Julito McCullum.

The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete is a story of salvation through friendship as two boys, separated from their mothers, face a summer alone in the Brooklyn projects hiding from police and foraging for food. The film is directed by George Tillman Jr. and stars Skylan Brooks, Ethan Dizon, Jennifer Hudson and Jordin Sparks, with Julito McCullum playing a supporting role.

Last week Sundance announced the lineups for participating films in the U.S. and World Competitions which included Concussion, starring MKS&D’s Jonathan Tchaikovsky, participating in the U.S. Dramatic Competition.

Concussion, directed and written by Stacie Passon, is one of 16 American Narrative Feature Films that will be making their world premiere. The film, starring Robin Weigert, Maggie Siff and Tchaikovsky, tells the story of a woman who changes her life after a blow to the head. Trevor Groth, Director of Programming for Sundance, projects “it will likely be one of the more talked-about films at the festival”.

For the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, 115 feature-length films were selected, representing 32 countries and 51 first-time filmmakers, including 27 in competition. These films were selected from 12,146 submissions, including 4,044 feature-length films.

CW Announces Premiere Date for The Carrie Diaries

On January 14, the long awaited Sex in the City prequel The Carrie Diaries will make its television premiere at 8 PM, just ahead of CW's highly rated 90210. The new show, based off the Candace Bushnell novels, features MKS&D client Brendan Dooling as a series regular.

Carrie Diaries chronicles Carrie Bradshaw's coming of age in the 1980s. Dooling will play the role of Walt, the best guy friend of the young Bradshaw (played by AnnaSophia Robb). The new series is written by Amy Harris, who is executive producing along with Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (Gossip Girl) and Bushnell. Miguel Arteta directed the pilot.

MKSD client E.J. Bonilla has landed a reccurring role on ABC’s hit drama series Revenge. Although E.J.’s exact role and character remains a mystery, TVLine has reported Bonilla will plan a man Nolan’s (Gabriel Mann) past - perhaps a former boyfriend or business associate.

Revenge continues to garner strong ratings, topping CBS rival The Good Wife in the ratings by 50% last week. The series centers on a young woman (played by Emily VanCamp) who is welcomed into a community filled with people who don't know she's only there to exact revenge on those who had destroyed her family.

Showtime has announced the return date for their hit series Shameless - with Season 3 kicking off at 9 PM on Sunday January 13, 2013. September 5, 2012 - MKSD client Brandon Reilly was one of 6 performers honored with a Performance Award at the 2012 Fringe Overall Excellence Awards. The annual event commemorated over 200 plays performed over a month’s period during the 2012 Fringe Festival by hundreds of actors and actresses. Brandon played the lead role in SleepOver, a play by high school student Max Friedlich about teenage angst and family difficulties. August 29, 2012 - MKS&D client, Thomas Vaethroeder, has been cast in a recurring role on the new CBS show Made in Jersey. The series, which The Hollywood Reporter calls "a sassy legal drama", centers around the career of working class woman Martina Goretti (played by Janet Montgomery) who tries to make it as a first-year associate at a prestigous NY law firm. Vaethroeder will play the role of Robbie Keenan, the son of Goretti's older sister Deb, played by Jessica Blanks.

The series premiere on September 28th (9/8c on CBS) marks the highly anticipated Hollywood debut for Vaethroeder, who was cast as the lead role in the Fox pilot The Prodigy Bully back in March. Two months later, however, the network ultimately passed on the series.

MKS&D Opens New Offices in New York City
 

August 27, 2012 - Jeff Mitchell, President of MKS&D, has announced the opening of MKS&D’s new offices located at 15 West 28th Street in New York City. Following a comprehensive construction project that was developed by MKS&D Board Member Janet DeNicola in collaboration with interior designer, Justin Shaulis, the new 9th floor office offers a dynamic workspace to better serve MKS&Ds growing client base and management team. The space includes expanded work centers, a new studio and client lounge. This is the second major expansion project for MKS&D in the past 18 months, beginning with the opening of their Los Angeles office on Wilshire Boulevard in Beverly Hills in March of 2011.


FX orders 13 episodes of The American featuring MKS&Ds Keidrich Sellati
 

August 21, 2012 - FX has just ordered 13 episodes of a new drama series, The Americans, created by Joe Weisberg (Falling Skies), which will premiere in early 2013. The show will star Keri Russell and Matthew Rhys as two KGB spies posing as Americans in suburban D.C. shortly after Reagan is elected president. MKS&D's Keidrich Sillati will play the role of Russell & Rhys son. The series will begin shooting in October.

EJ Bonilla shares Best Performance Award at LA Film Fest
 

Jiune 18, 2012 - For the second straight year, MKS&D's EJ Bonilla has been recognized for outstanding performance during the LA Film Festival. Bonilla's role in Joshua Sanchez's drama "Four" earned him a share of the 2012 award for Best Performance in an Ensamble Cast. Last year Bonilla received strong reviews for his performance in Mamitas, a role that earned him a nominee for Best Actor in a Feature Film for the upcoming Imagen Awards.

EJ Bonilla nominated for Best Actor Award
 

Jiune 18, 2012 - MKS&D client EJ Bonilla as been nominated for the Best Actor in a Feature Film at the 27th Annual Imagen Awards for his starring role in Mamitas. The Imagen Awards are the premier Hispanic/Latino entertainment awards, which will be presented at a gala black-tie dinner on August 10th at the Beverly Hilton Hotel.

Bonilla received strong reviews at the LA Film festival last June for his role as Jordin Juarez, and his performance helped secure the Jury and Audience awards for Best Narrative Feature at the Urbanworld Film Fest in September. Joining Bonilla as nominees for Best Actor are film veterans Lou Diamond Phillips (Filly Brown) and Will Ferrell (Casa De Mi Padre).

Nikki James hits big screen in Film Version of Lucky Stiff
 

May 17, 2012 - A trio of Tony Award Winners, including MSK&D client Nikki M. James, are teaming up to bring an adaptation of the 1988 musical "Lucky Stiff" to the screen. James received a 2011 Tony Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her work in “Book of Mormon”. Joining James is fellow Tony winner Jason Alexander (leading actor in a musical for “Jerome Robbins”) and Brittish newcomer Dominic Marsh. The film is to be directed by Christopher Ashley, director of the 2010 Tony Award-Winning Best Musical “Memphis”.

The musical farce centers on a lonely English bachelor (Marsh) who stands to inherit a fortune from his recently deceased uncle. Unfortunately, this involves squiring his uncle's corpse on a whirlwind vacation to Monte Carlo, where several other parties including his romantic rival (played by James), have their eyes on the same inheritance. Production is slated for mid-June in Southern California.

Keidrich Sellati Cast in Upcoming FX Pilot The Americans
 

May 17, 2012 - MSK&D is proud to announce that Keidrich Sellati has booked his first series, cast as Henry Jennings in a new FX project The Americans. Starring Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys and Noah Emmerich, The Americans centers on two KGB spies (Russell, Rhys) posing as Americans in suburban Washington DC in the early 1980s.

From creator Joe Weisberg (Falling Skies, Damages), producer Graham Yost, director Gavin O’Connor, Fox TV Studios and DreamWorks TV, The Americans has been called “one of the best pilot scripts we ever read” by FX’s EVP original programming Nick Grad.

The Carrie Diaries Picked Up By CW
 

May 16, 2012 - The Carrie Diaries joins four pilots as the latest pickups for CW. Based on Candace Bushnell's "Sex in the City" prequel novel, Carrie Diaries chronicles Carrie Bradshaw's coming of age in the 1980s. MKS&D's Bendan Dooling will play the role of Walt, the best guy friend of the young Bradshaw (played by AnnaSophia Robb). The new series is written by Amy Harris, who is executive producing along with Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (Gossip Girl) and Bushnell. Miguel Arteta directed the pilot.

CW Renews 90210 for 5th Season
 

May 4, 2012 - The CW gave early an renewal to 90210, ensuring the gang from West Beverly - including MKSD's Tristan Wilds - will return for a 5th season. Wilds stars as Dixon Wilson, who moves from Kansas to become a star athlete and scholar at West Beverly Hills High. The role earned him a nomination for a 2010 Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Male Stare: Drama and a 2009 Teen Choice Award in the category of Choice TV: Breakout Male Star.

Showtime's Shameless Renewed for 3rd Season
 

May 3, 2012 - Back in February, Showtime announced it has renewed it's hit show Shameless for a third season. Shameless is based on the U.K. series from Paul Abbott about a Chicago family that struggles in tough economic times. MKSD's Emma Kenney plays Debbie Gallagher, one of the middle Gallagher children and the youngest daughter. She stars alongside Emmy Rossum (big sister Fiona Gallagher) and William H. Macy (Debbie's hopepless and alcoholic father Frank). Shameless is currently Showtime's #2 rated show with 4.7 million weekly viewers, trailing only Dexter.

ABC Family's The Lying Game officially renewed for Season 2
 

April 25, 2012 - ABC Family's The Lying Game starring MKS&D's Alexandra Chando has been officially renewed for a second season. Rumors of the renewal began swirling back in March, but even Chando is excited by the official announcement, sharing yesterday via Twitter - "Finally happy to announce that #lyinggame has been picked up for a second season!". Production on Season 2 begins in the summer, with a premiere date in the winter. The pickup comes after winter episodes improved significantly in the ratings compared to the first half of the season. The show's numbers among ABC Family's target audience of young women were up by 28 percent in the second half of the season.

MKS&D's Eric Hill officially cast in BET's Y.M.O.C.
 

April 4, 2012 - Eric Hill Jr. will play the role of Marco in BET's upcoming comedy pilot Y.M.O.C. aka Young Man on Campus. Marco is the basketball star cousin and college dorm roommate of lead character Jacob Matthews, played by Jacob Lattimore. The series centers around young Jacob, a 15-year-old college prodigy who is the youngest man on campus at Mt. Pleasant University.

Both Hill and Lattimore's characters were previously introduced in an episode of BET's comedy series Reed Between the Lines, which aired in December. There has been speculation that BET is already eying a 10-episode order for Y.M.O.C.

March 15, 2012 - Hollywood newcomer and MKS&D client Thomas Vaethroeder has been cast as the lead role, Audie Murphy, in Fox's upcoming Comedy Pilot Prodigy Bully. The half-hour show is written by Mike O'Malley and features John Wells as executive producer. The story centers on Vaethroeder's character as a young boy genius who uses his brains and brawn to get whatever he wants. O'Malley plays Audie's father alongside mother Missi Pyle.

Brendan Dooling Cast in CW Pilot Carrie Diaries
 

March 4, 2012 - MKSD’s Brendan Dooling has been cast in the CW Pilot Carrie Diaries. Carrie Diaries, based on Candace Bushnell's novel, chronicles Carrie Bradshaw's coming of age in the 1980s. Dooling will play the role of Walt, Carrie's (played by AnnaSophia Robb) best guy friend during a time when she first questions love, sex friendship and family. Dooling's character Walt is often considered "one of the girls", and has questions of his own that need to be answered which isn't an easy thing given the mid 1980's time period.The Pilot will begin filming in late March in New York City.


Lily Pilblad added to cast of CBS' latest crime drama project Trooper
 

February 29, 2012 - MKSD’s Lily Pilblad has been added to the cast of Trooper, Jerry Bruckenheimer's latest crime drama that will be competing for a spot in CBS' upcoming fall lineup. Trooper is the young actress' third major series appearance, after having re-occurring roles on FX's Lights Out and Fox's Fringe.

Pilblad will play the role of Ruby, the youngest of 3 daughters of lead character K.J. Flaxton (Mira Sorvino). The story is based around Sorvino's character, a practical mom who becomes a New York State Trooper.

December 14, 2011 - Alexandra Chando resumes her duel-role as Emma and Sutton Mercer in The Lying Game on January 2, 2012 at 9PM on ABC Family. While she didn’t provide any spoilers, explaining even she doesn’t like to know what’s happening next, Chando did tell the Huffington Post in a recent interview that the winter premiere “picks up from where the [Fall] finale left off.” Also in the interview Chando discusses the challenge of playing two polar-opposite characters.

Emma Kenney set for season 2 of Showtime's hit seriesShameless
 

December 13, 2011 - MKSD’s Emma Kenney and the rest of the Shameless cast including Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy return to television for the Season 2 premiere on January 8, 2012 @ 9:00pm ET/PT time on Showtime. The Season 1 finale, which aired in March 2011, drew an audience of 1.16 million viewers – marking both the series highest rating and Showtime’s biggest audience for a Season 1 finale telecast in 10 years.

Emma stars as one of the middle Gallagher children, Debbie - who is helpful, sensitive and has a good heart. In season 1, she longed for familial stability, and was even willing to pretend a complete stranger with dementia was her grandmother. But now she's starting to grow up. She helps Fiona (Emmy Rossum) run a day care center in the house, and she's determined to get a room of her own at any cost.

ABC Family extends Season 1 ofThe Lying Game
 

September 18, 2011 - Season 1 of The Lying Game, starring Alexandra Chando, has been extended for 10 additional episodes by ABC Family. The show premiered on August 15 to 1.39 million viewers (Nielson). The mid-season finale will air on October 17th, with the final 10 episodes of the 19 episode first season resuming in early 2012.

September 2, 2011 - HBO has given green light to Spike Lee’s boxing drama pilot, “Da Brick”.
