Nikki James hits big screen in Film Version of Lucky Stiff
 

May 17, 2012 - A trio of Tony Award Winners, including MSK&D client Nikki M. James, are teaming up to bring an adaptation of the 1988 musical "Lucky Stiff" to the screen. James received a 2011 Tony Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Musical for her work in “Book of Mormon”. Joining James is fellow Tony winner Jason Alexander (leading actor in a musical for “Jerome Robbins”) and Brittish newcomer Dominic Marsh. The film is to be directed by Christopher Ashley, director of the 2010 Tony Award-Winning Best Musical “Memphis”.

The musical farce centers on a lonely English bachelor (Marsh) who stands to inherit a fortune from his recently deceased uncle. Unfortunately, this involves squiring his uncle's corpse on a whirlwind vacation to Monte Carlo, where several other parties including his romantic rival (played by James), have their eyes on the same inheritance. Production is slated for mid-June in Southern California.

Keidrich Sellati Cast in Upcoming FX Pilot The Americans
 

May 17, 2012 - MSK&D is proud to announce that Keidrich Sellati has booked his first series, cast as Henry Jennings in a new FX project The Americans. Starring Keri Russell, Matthew Rhys and Noah Emmerich, The Americans centers on two KGB spies (Russell, Rhys) posing as Americans in suburban Washington DC in the early 1980s.

From creator Joe Weisberg (Falling Skies, Damages), producer Graham Yost, director Gavin O’Connor, Fox TV Studios and DreamWorks TV, The Americans has been called “one of the best pilot scripts we ever read” by FX’s EVP original programming Nick Grad.

The Carrie Diaries Picked Up By CW
 

May 16, 2012 - The Carrie Diaries joins four pilots as the latest pickups for CW. Based on Candace Bushnell's "Sex in the City" prequel novel, Carrie Diaries chronicles Carrie Bradshaw's coming of age in the 1980s. MKS&D's Bendan Dooling will play the role of Walt, the best guy friend of the young Bradshaw (played by AnnaSophia Robb). The new series is written by Amy Harris, who is executive producing along with Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage (Gossip Girl) and Bushnell. Miguel Arteta directed the pilot.

CW Renews 90210 for 5th Season
 

May 4, 2012 - The CW gave early an renewal to 90210, ensuring the gang from West Beverly - including MKSD's Tristan Wilds - will return for a 5th season. Wilds stars as Dixon Wilson, who moves from Kansas to become a star athlete and scholar at West Beverly Hills High. The role earned him a nomination for a 2010 Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Male Stare: Drama and a 2009 Teen Choice Award in the category of Choice TV: Breakout Male Star.

Showtime's Shameless Renewed for 3rd Season
 

May 3, 2012 - Back in February, Showtime announced it has renewed it's hit show Shameless for a third season. Shameless is based on the U.K. series from Paul Abbott about a Chicago family that struggles in tough economic times. MKSD's Emma Kenney plays Debbie Gallagher, one of the middle Gallagher children and the youngest daughter. She stars alongside Emmy Rossum (big sister Fiona Gallagher) and William H. Macy (Debbie's hopepless and alcoholic father Frank). Shameless is currently Showtime's #2 rated show with 4.7 million weekly viewers, trailing only Dexter.

ABC Family's The Lying Game officially renewed for Season 2
 

April 25, 2012 - ABC Family's The Lying Game starring MKS&D's Alexandra Chando has been officially renewed for a second season. Rumors of the renewal began swirling back in March, but even Chando is excited by the official announcement, sharing yesterday via Twitter - "Finally happy to announce that #lyinggame has been picked up for a second season!". Production on Season 2 begins in the summer, with a premiere date in the winter. The pickup comes after winter episodes improved significantly in the ratings compared to the first half of the season. The show's numbers among ABC Family's target audience of young women were up by 28 percent in the second half of the season.

April 24, 2012 - On Martin Luther King Day, just days before the official release of Red Tail's, Tristan Wilds along with George Lucas and the Red Tails cast, held the honor of a private screening at the White House with the President and First Lady.

MKS&D's Eric Hill officially cast in BET's Y.M.O.C.
 

April 4, 2012 - Eric Hill Jr. will play the role of Marco in BET's upcoming comedy pilot Y.M.O.C. aka Young Man on Campus. Marco is the basketball star cousin and college dorm roommate of lead character Jacob Matthews, played by Jacob Lattimore. The series centers around young Jacob, a 15-year-old college prodigy who is the youngest man on campus at Mt. Pleasant University.

Both Hill and Lattimore's characters were previously introduced in an episode of BET's comedy series Reed Between the Lines, which aired in December. There has been speculation that BET is already eying a 10-episode order for Y.M.O.C.

Thomas Vaethroeder Lands Lead in new Fox Comedy Pilot Prodigy Bully
 

March 15, 2012 - Hollywood newcomer and MKS&D client Thomas Vaethroeder has been cast as the lead role, Audie Murphy, in Fox's upcoming Comedy Pilot Prodigy Bully. The half-hour show is written by Mike O'Malley and features John Wells as executive producer. The story centers on Vaethroeder's character as a young boy genius who uses his brains and brawn to get whatever he wants. O'Malley plays Audie's father alongside mother Missi Pyle.

Brendan Dooling Cast in CW Pilot Carrie Diaries
 

March 4, 2012 - MKSD’s Brendan Dooling has been cast in the CW Pilot Carrie Diaries. Carrie Diaries, based on Candace Bushnell's novel, chronicles Carrie Bradshaw's coming of age in the 1980s. Dooling will play the role of Walt, Carrie's (played by AnnaSophia Robb) best guy friend during a time when she first questions love, sex friendship and family. Dooling's character Walt is often considered "one of the girls", and has questions of his own that need to be answered which isn't an easy thing given the mid 1980's time period.The Pilot will begin filming in late March in New York City.


Lily Pilblad added to cast of CBS' latest crime drama project Trooper
 

February 29, 2012 - MKSD’s Lily Pilblad has been added to the cast of Trooper, Jerry Bruckenheimer's latest crime drama that will be competing for a spot in CBS' upcoming fall lineup. Trooper is the young actress' third major series appearance, after having re-occurring roles on FX's Lights Out and Fox's Fringe.

Pilblad will play the role of Ruby, the youngest of 3 daughters of lead character K.J. Flaxton (Mira Sorvino). The story is based around Sorvino's character, a practical mom who becomes a New York State Trooper.

The Lying Game returns on January 2, 2012 for Winter Premier
 

December 14, 2011 - Alexandra Chando resumes her duel-role as Emma and Sutton Mercer in The Lying Game on January 2, 2012 at 9PM on ABC Family. While she didn’t provide any spoilers, explaining even she doesn’t like to know what’s happening next, Chando did tell the Huffington Post in a recent interview that the winter premiere “picks up from where the [Fall] finale left off.” Also in the interview Chando discusses the challenge of playing two polar-opposite characters.

Emma Kenney set for season 2 of Showtime's hit seriesShameless
 

December 13, 2011 - MKSD’s Emma Kenney and the rest of the Shameless cast including Emmy Rossum and William H. Macy return to television for the Season 2 premiere on January 8, 2012 @ 9:00pm ET/PT time on Showtime. The Season 1 finale, which aired in March 2011, drew an audience of 1.16 million viewers – marking both the series highest rating and Showtime’s biggest audience for a Season 1 finale telecast in 10 years.

Emma stars as one of the middle Gallagher children, Debbie - who is helpful, sensitive and has a good heart. In season 1, she longed for familial stability, and was even willing to pretend a complete stranger with dementia was her grandmother. But now she's starting to grow up. She helps Fiona (Emmy Rossum) run a day care center in the house, and she's determined to get a room of her own at any cost.

ABC Family extends Season 1 ofThe Lying Game
 

September 18, 2011 - Season 1 of The Lying Game, starring Alexandra Chando, has been extended for 10 additional episodes by ABC Family. The show premiered on August 15 to 1.39 million viewers (Nielson). The mid-season finale will air on October 17th, with the final 10 episodes of the 19 episode first season resuming in early 2012.

September 2, 2011 - HBO has given green light to Spike Lee’s boxing drama pilot, “Da Brick”. Shortly after the pilot was picked up, HBO announced cast members including MKS&D client Julito McCullum in a series regular role. Da Brick will be loosely based on the early life of former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson, and Hollywood Reporter notes comparison to Entourage's inspiration from producer Mark Wahlberg's life.
